The largest currently available is as much as 2 Gigabytes, which can store large numbers of photographs. The exact number will vary as the number of pixels directly affects the amount of memory used. The settings of your picture image can often be changed also. The picture quality is better the higher the resolution you choose. Lower resolutions take up less memory and so can be useful if you just want to send images to friends and family, if are running low on space or if the quality is not of importance.

It is also important that you can store your pictures. If you purchase a cell phone memory card (telefone celular), make sure that it also be compatible with your computer or that it can be hooked up to a USB that is computer compatible. A major advantage of a camera is that it can be used to send pictures direct to friends and family with a compatible cell phone (telefone celular). These can be sent via multi media messages, which although relatively expensive are now appearing in cell phone contracts as part of a package.

Digital photos can also be sent via email if the cell phone (telefone celular) is internet enabled. Any photographic image can be sent for free via infra red or Bluetooth to another compatible device. This is an excellent way of sharing images, without the need for downloading first, which is both fast and functional. This means cell phones do have an advantage over other photographic devices to a degree, as they do not yet have this feature.

How Accurate Is Your Multimeter And What Is True Rms?

Every electrical technician knows the difference between DC (Direct Current) and AC (Alternating Current). Every electrical technician also realizes the importance of taking accurate current measurements to protect conductors from exceeding their insulators' ability to withstand heat or assuring devices under power work properly. However, does every electrical technician realize that electrical current measurements aren't always what they appear to be?

Direct Current (DC) is straightforward. When we use a multimeter to measure direct current, it is what it is. However, the plot thickens when we are dealing with Alternating Current (AC). AC current travels back and forth down a conductor and can best be described in graphical format. The most common graphical description of AC current is a sine wave. Because the amplitude of the sine wave continuously changes over the wave period (one complete cycle), at any given point in time, a current measurement would not be the same. Therefore, how do we accurately measure AC Current?

One method to measure AC current would be take current measurements at increments across one complete cycle and average them together. This would give us an average value of the current. If the current is a perfect sine wave, mathematically, the average value is always 0.636 times the value of the peak amplitude.

Another method to measure current is based on the current's ability to perform work when applied to a resistive load. The laws of physics tell us that when current passes through a resistive load, it dissipates energy in the form of heat, mechanical motion, radiation or other forms of energy. If the resistive load is a heating element and the resistive load stays constant, then the laws of physics tell us that the heat produced is directly proportionate to the current passing through the load. Therefore, if we measure the heat, we will know the current.

Mathematically, the relationship between heat and current is such that the heat produced is proportional to the square of the current applied to a resistance.

(Power or Heat) = (Current) ^2 * (Resistance)

If the current is continuously changing, as in AC current, the heat produced is proportional to the average (or mean) of the square of the current applied to a resistance:

(Power or Heat) = Average [ (Current) ^2 * (Resistance) ]

Using algebra, the above formula can be rewritten to read:

Current = Square Root [ (Power or Heat) / (Resistance) ]

AND this is called the Root Mean Square Current or RMS Current.

For AC currents that are graphically represented by a sine wave, the RMS current will always be 0.707 times the peak current. With that said, we can calculate current by multiplying peak measurements by 0.707 if the current is a perfect sine wave. However, perfect sine waves are rare in most commercial and industrial applications. This is because resistive loads in commercial applications are not linear which results in unpredictable or variable current requirements.

In order to get a True RMS measurement, we can measure the heat dissipated by a constant resistive load and perform the above calculations. The result is a True RMS measurement.

Now that we got all the technical discussion out of the way, which is the best method to calculate current? Should we 1.) measure a current average 2.) multiply current peaks by 0.707 to get an RMS current, or 3.) measure the heat from a resistor and calculate a True RMS current value?

Although Global Test Supply sells multimeters that can calculate current using any of the above methods, the most accurate way to calculate current in my opinion is a True RMS method. Average current values often are 40% less than True RMS values and that could mean the difference between blown circuit breakers, malfunctioning motors, or worst case, potential fire hazards. True RMS multimeters only cost about 20-30% more than the alternative. How much is an accurate current reading worth to you?

Let me tell you what the more industrious or creative types do in their sheds. There are many blokes sheds around that have fantastic machinery installed which are used to do all sorts of special projects. Often, these people are retired engineers, professional trade workers, and semi-skilled self taught home handy man type of people. There has been some amazing self built creations that have emerged from the humble backyard shed.

A mans got to have a shed to relax, to create, to repair, to rebuild or to just lose himself for a few hours. A mans shed is his castle.

Here is what some men build in their sheds: Wood turning is a widespread practical type of hobby that almost anyone can do, it is not hard to learn, and equipment & tools can be bought or home built, and "timber or wood" is plentiful. The skills to do wood turning can mastered by anyone with the desire to learn.

Furniture making can also be undertaken by the home craft person, if you are skilled enough you could create furniture pieces that would be worth many thousands of dollars if bought in a furniture store. Reproduction antiques, modern, or classic design furniture can be made in the home shed if you have the skills and some good hand tools, the old time furniture makers had unique skills with normal hand tools, they did not have access to precision saws, routers, planners etc, basic skills and elbow grease were the secret to their success.

If you don't like working with wood or timber, then you could try your hand at working with metal, of course you will need different types of tools and skill sets to work with metal, but again, the skills can be easily learnt from books, night classes or even private tuition. Metal can be cut and bent & shaped into all sorts designs using special forms or dies, decorative wrought iron designs on domestic gates are created using these techniques. Is it possible for the home worker to do this in his shed? Absolutely, learn the skills, buy some tools and get the creative juices flowing to make your own unique metal creations.

Metal Casting, I.E, the melting and pouring of molten metal into sand moulds is one of the fastest growing creative metal craft hobbies around the world. Some of the most amazing objects have been created in back sheds, everything from simple doorknobs, to handles and levers for machines, to special parts for vintage car & motorcycles, even home built aeroplane engines for micro light aircraft. Or you can design and build things for special projects you may be working on.

You may think that this is just pie in the sky stuff, but it is not, it is happening at this very moment somewhere around the globe, and probably be happening in a shed not far from you, you would be surprised at just how many people there might be in your area who are busy creating all kinds of things form metal.

NAACP Decides to Symbolically Bury the "N" Word in a Major Move Forward

The NAACP put to rest a long-standing expression of racism Monday (7-9-07) by symbolically burying the "n" word in a ceremony.

The timing for the burial ceremony could not have been better as the NAACP was having its annual convention at Detroit's Cobo Center. Delegates marched about a quarter mile to Hart Plaza as two horses pulled a pine box adorned with a bouquet of black roses.

The n-word has been used as a slur against blacks for more than a century, as an Associated Press article noted.

What was different about this move by the NAACP was the recognition that the very word that was being buried is also used by blacks when referring to other blacks, especially in comedy routines, rap and hip-hop music.

I believe the stance by the NAACP could potentially do more for race relations than any single move by special interest and civil rights groups in recent years.

"While we are happy to have sent a certain radio cowboy back to his ranch," said NAACP National Board Chairman Julian Bond (referring to a racially charged comment by talk show host Don Imus which cost him his job earlier this year) "we ought to hold ourselves to the same standard."

Black leaders Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton both have also apparently challenged the entertainment industry and the American public to stop using the n-word and other racial slurs.

As a white American I applaud this move by the NAACP and such media savvy black leaders as Jackson and Sharpton.

Among the honorary pallbearers for the funeral was hip-hop legend Kurtis Blow, who apparently has been a rapper and in hip-hop music for about 35 years. Blow has said that he has never used the n-word in recording more than 150 songs.

I personally do not listen to either rap or hip-hop music and consequently have never heard of Kurtis Blow, but I most certainly admire and appreciate his not using the n-word to help sell and promote his music.

I believe using the n-word is no different than cussing. Do not be deceived by cussing. Cussing is no more or no less than a sign of a low self-image.

If you think listening to a man cussing on a recording is cute and so impressive because he is making a real statement about himself, you are wrong. It is not cute or appropriate at any time, and especially around children. Period. There are no exceptions.

Neither blacks nor whites (or people of any other color) should be using the n-word to refer to blacks or whites or anyone else. It is inappropriate and counterproductive to human relations and respect for everyone.

There are millions of educated, literate blacks who have not used the n-word under any circumstance on their way to prosperity and success in America.

These same blacks struggle as many of us do in their climb to success and yet are able to take advantage of opportunities, take responsibility for their actions and become positive role models for people of all races and ethnic groups.

These same black people do not need to use the n-word to define who they are or make a public statement about themselves or others, and every one of them deserves my respect and admiration.

My previous eBay auction tutorials have focused on deciding what to sell, and for how much. These are obviously important decisions, but there's one more vital part of your eBay auction posting that we've got to discuss - and that's the content of your auction listing!

Whether you're selling your own ebook of soup recipes or old soup labels, the sale itself all comes down to the listing you write. After all, the listing is the initial interaction you have with potential buyers, and it doesn't get any more important than that!

When I started selling on eBay eight years ago, I made some classic mistakes that I've since corrected, and I've seen plenty of other beginners make the same mistakes. My next few eBay auction tutorials will focus on these mistakes, so you can avoid them and maximize your sales and profits. After all, that's what we're after!

If there's only one piece of advice I can give you about eBay listings, it would be to spell-check your listings, including the title. And while you're spellchecking, make sure to spellcheck the spelling of every word in your description and title!

A misspelled word in your title can cost you sales and money. For example, let's say you're selling homemade jewelry. When you create your eBay auction listing, eBay will ask you for a concise description of your item. If you misspell jewelry as "jewlry", eBay buyers who search on "jewelry" will not see your item. It takes only a moment to spellcheck your listing, so make sure to do so!

Misspellings of this type are so common that there are actually eBay buyers who make money buying items like the "jewlry" we just discussed. These buyers pick up valuable items very cheaply, since most interested buyers won't even see it in their search results due to the misspelling. These same buyers turn around and sell the item with a well-written description and make big money. There's nothing wrong with them doing this, but you don't want to miss out on sales just because you didn't spellcheck your item description.

The eBay listing feature doesn't have a spellcheck feature, but I'm willing to bet that your computer has a word processor program such as Microsoft Word that does. I recommend that you write your eBay auction listing in Word, spellcheck it when you're done, and then copy and paste it into the eBay window. This way, you can also save your description for easier editing in the future.

Google adwords concept is easy. You create ads that Google shows alongside a keyword search. You give Google keywords that you want to be associated with your product. For example, you sell Disney T-shirts, you might want your ad to show up when people do a search for Disney. Weve all seen these ads that appear to the right of a google search, called sponsored links. These are paid advertisements.

When you create an adwords ad you chose keywords for which your ad will appear and specify the maximum amount youre willing to pay for each click. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad and visits your website.

Now that you know adwords is and excellent way to bring in revenue you need to determine how much you are willing to pay per click (PPC). You can figure this using the following simple formula: Divide your monthly visitors by your monthly sales, then convert that into a percentage by multiplying by 100. Say in a month you get 2000 visitors and sell 500 products each with a gross profit of $50.00. Your conversion ratio would be 2.5%. This means that 2.5% of every 100 people buy your product. Calculate your gross profit for every 100 visitors, 50 X 2.5%=$125.00. In this example you could afford to pay up to $1.25 for a visitor. This is a high amount and you would never have to pay that much.

Your keyword selection is the most important element when using adwords. These are the words when searched for will trigger the appearance of your ad in the search results. Choose these words while thinking what you would search for if you wanted a certain product. Use different spelling variations and plurals of your keywords to get the best results.
